There’s SO MUCH to talk about in this post. Coat, and belt, and jeans, OH MY! Where do I even begin? I’m so excited about it all, I’ll just go in alphabetical order so no item gets their feelings hurt!
That belt! So, if anyone else has been obsessing over Gucci’s new Marmont collection, you know just as well as I do, these belts are not easy to come by! They sold out lickity split, (especially in the black or brown with gold combo) and getting your hands on one was near impossible. Personally, I was interested in finding the pearl version, or the neutral colored leather. I searched high and low, and somehow came across the size up from what I really needed in Miami! Without hesitation, I told them to send it to me! The packaging it arrived in was almost as beautiful as the belt itself. While the size I purchased I have to wear on the tightest belt loop, (I’ll have to get Deno’s to add a few extra holes if I wear it around my natural waist at some point) I find myself planning outfits around the belt just so I can show it off because I find it so gorg! Gucci’s Marmont collection has been a blogger favorite, and if you’re looking to add a piece of it to your collection, a belt is a great investment, and also the most affordable option. The designer accessories that bring an outfit together and add a more luxurious element to your wardrobe are items I choose to splurge on. **Disclaimer** I will not be held responsible for how often I choose to show off this Gucci belt’s beauty over the course of my blog
That coat! I stumbled across this coat on a recent work trip to Chicago. Zara is a gold mine for affordable statement pieces and this was no exception. The color combo on this coat makes it perfect to pair with jeans, but it also looks idyllic over a dress. Texas temperatures make it hard to don coats more often than not, but the weight of this coat offers an opportunity to give it a day out without getting too hot. The gingham check print provides a bit of a Chanel feel and the ruffle is what really makes this coat a showstopper. The slight fringe raw edges don’t hurt either!
Those jeans! YA’LL! As a girl who struggles hard to find jeans that fit me and flatter my shape, I was MORE than excited to find these SP Black Label jeans at Nordstrom. They aren’t completely high waisted but they do sit higher than your hip bones which I find an added bonus! The movement in the knees helps avoid one of my biggest jean pet peeves, stretched out knees. Initially, this particular pair of jeans caught my attention because of the slit front at the ankle. Turns out, this design seems to lengthen and flatter while creating a longer, slimmer leg look. A real win, win! Finally, I feel like I can step out in a pair of jeans with confidence. Another bonus? $58!!!! That’s a price I can handle for some baby blues, opposed to the 3 figure prices you typically find on designer denim.
So why did I choose to put all these pieces together? Well, I felt there was something ladylike about the coat, top, and belt. Adding the denim makes it a little more modern and edgy while still creating a classic look.
